Course Group: Historical Books
The Old Testament historical books describe the history of God's people from the conquest of the Promised Land, through the united and divided kingdoms, into the Assyrian and Babylonian exiles, and finally to the attempted restoration of the kingdom.
But should we interpret and apply these books today? Are they primarily just historical records? Or do they teach us important lessons about God, ourselves, and the world?
